Dr. Stuart C. Kozinn is a highly regarded orthopedic surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona who has been serving his patients for over 30 years. Dr. Kozinn’s training includes a Joint Replacement Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, and graduation from the highest ranked orthopedic training program in the world, at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City ( Cornell-Presbyterian New York Medical Center). His extensive training in surgery includes a surgical internship at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical College, and surgical rotations at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Kozinn received his MD degree from UCLA Medical School in 1982 with additional honors for his innovative joint replacement research, which described bone ingrowth into cementless skeletal implants. Dr. Kozinn’s bone ingrowth research won the “All Categories First Prize” award at an international student research competition. He is an expert at all approaches to total joint replacement and developed muscle sparing surgery techniques that allowed his patients to recover more rapidly. Dr. Kozinn is transitioning to teaching and consulting duties. Dr. Kozinn is available for complex medico-legal consultations involving problematic issues after total joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Kozinn is an expert in “standard of care” evaluations regarding total joint complications. Dr. Kozinn served as the Chief of Surgery at the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, where he was also the Medical Director of The Total Joint Center.
